The Architecture of a Deep Work Block

A deep work block is a room. It has a doorway (the ritual that starts it), walls (what you refuse while inside), and a window you leave by — on purpose, before attention decays into browsing.

We build ours in ninety-minute spans. The first ten belong to friction: opening the file, hating the file, opening it again. Caffeine timed to arrive as this friction peaks — not before — turns the wall into a door.

Exit discipline matters more than entry. Leave one sentence unfinished. Tomorrow's block begins with momentum you banked today.
